Performance for Stage and Screen students at Sheffield Hallam University perform an adapted reading of Edgar Allen Poe’s The Mystery of Marie Roget. Based upon the murder of Mary Cecila Rogers in New York in 1841, it is considered to be the first ‘true crime’ story. UK/Australian performance company Doppelgangster have prepared this version of the tale especially for the students as part of an initial research and development project into Poe’s tales of ratiocination.
