Valkyrie: A Motorway Odyssey

Met the designer for this show by chance waiting for a bus and I am now thoroughly convinced that this show is gonna look amazing. She seemed convinced of the quality of the work too, and you know it looks pretty ****ing cool. – Tobias

Yes, she was waiting for a very specific bus, one with a modern aesthetic. Nothing else would do. Expect to see the same level of dedication and attention to detail in the design of this show. – Tom

Das Spiel: Are You Part of the Game?

This is one of those shows that’s not a show but a game, and so, ok, it says that in the title but then it sort of doesn’t, but it surely is. Looks slick. – Tobias

So, I saw this one and I was like, “Mastermind circa 1994?” – but then I looked a little closer and I spotted that the piece had a German title. And anything with a German name has got to be good, right? – Tom

THE BANE TRILOGY

This trilogy of shows has been selling out for about half a decade. If you havent seen it, it’s one guy and a live musician and a comic book style tale and by all accounts it’s a phenomenon though that’s kind of stopped me seeing it. Hype does that sometimes. So ok. This time. It’s got a more 5 stars and awards than any thing else in the festival and doesnt even mention it. – Tobias

Here’s the opposite end of the spectrum. A show that doesn’t even exist. What’s a fringe festival if you’re not taking punts? Any show that openly comes out and says it is anti-capitalist is either wild and brave or completely undergraduate and in this setting I’m excited for either. – Tobias
